Rochester River Challenge
This annual, full-day event is the largest outrigger canoeing sprint race in the Eastern US. It is an inclusive paddling event that draws people from local neighborhoods, companies, and organizations to support Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana in its mission to make paddling opportounities available to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities.
Since 2012, the Rochester River Challenge has been designated a Disabled Sports USA Warfighter Sports Event. Programs for the wounded warriors are part of DSUSA's Warfighter Sports Program, which offers sports rehabilitation programs free of cost to severely wounded warriors and a family member. Warfighter sports rebuilds lives through sports by improving self-confidence, promoting independence and uniting families through shared healthy activities.
From 2005-2011, the Rochester River Challenge was designated as a Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project Event. Visit www.DSUSA.org for more information.
