CAOO Congratulates Medalists of the US National Sprint Race Championships
Congratulations to Bob Balk, Derrick Mertowski and Colin Gooley who earned gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the 500-meter V1 United States Canoe Association’s National Sprint Race Championships for Paddlers with Disabilities in Lock Haven, Pa. on August 12, 2014. CAOO provided coaching and equipment for these paddlers.

For the 11th consecutive year, the Bills Alumni chose to support Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana's Warfighter Sports Program for wounded veterans, this year, with a donation of $5,000. Sincere thanks for helping us rebuild lives through sports.

With the goal of raising awareness of the ability inside all people with disabilities, Our Ability will lead the largest event ever for People with Disabilities in New York State beginning June 23 with the Journey Along the Erie Canal, a 17-day bike ride starting in Buffalo and ending in Albany. Remembering John D. Eichner
The Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana (Family) mourns the passing of John D. Eichner, one of our founding members. John will be with us in heart and mind as we remember his smile, his friendliness and his joy of paddling. To honor John’s memory and his enjoyment of competing in our inclusive community event, CAOO will inscribe “In Memory of John D. Eichner” on theadaptive paddle his used and rename Rochester River Challenge Golden Masters Division, the John D. Eichner Memorial Golden Masters Division.
Special thanks to members of John’s family and friends who contributed memorial gifts to CAOO in his honor.
